Time for Tots

Time for Tots is a fun, interactive class to introduce young students to dance through games and activities that teach balance, rhythm, movement, coordination, & basic tap and ballet steps.Tap & Ballet combination class. (Ages 2 - 3)

 

Creative Movement 

Does your little one love to move and dance? This class will give your little dancer a basic introduction to ballet steps and positions, while enhancing their motor skills and coordination with fun exercises in music qualities and rhythms, story-telling with movement, and free dance with various props. Tap & Ballet combination class. (Ages 4 - 5)

 

Levels 1 & 2 Ballet 

This beginning level class is designed to develop awareness of alignment and basic ballet vocabulary and technique. Class will include basic barre exercises, as well as center work.  Your child will have a clear understanding of body alignment, movement quality, carriage of upper body, and flexibility. 

 

Levels 3 & 4/5 Ballet

These are intermediate to advanced classes. Prior ballet experience is required. We will focus on classical ballet technique through a professional class progression. Barre work, center and across the floor exercises are designed to better your technique, as well as performance quality and confidence. With quality and knowledgeable teaching and an encouraging environment, these classes will be a perfect fit for those who aspire to improve their dancing!

( LV 4/5 is NOT Recital performance classes )

 

Ballet Performance

Is an add on class for Level 4/5 ballet.  Students will study classical ballets and learn variations and repertoire.

( This is a Recital Performance class. )

Pointe

This class is designed for students with previous ballet training and requires approval to enter. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Students will focus on strengthening the feet and ankles through barre and center work.

Just Dance
Just Dance is a special needs dance driven class that provides a creative outlet for those in need of a safe environment to interact socially, be themselves, and make friends at no cost to the families involved! Our goal is always to forge confident, capable dancers.  This class offers a balance of needs and skills. (All Ages)

Lyrical 

Lyrical is a dance style that embodies various aspects of balletjazzacrobaticsmodern, and hip hop, while displaying emotional moods and emphasis on illustration of song lyrics.

 

Jazz

Jazz combines many styles and techniques! Our jazz classes teach basic jazz dance technique, terminology and style with an emphasis on proper technique, alignment and movement quality. 

 

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

 

Tap

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.

 

Musical Theater

Musical theater introduces students to the songs of Broadway Musicals. Classesconsist of a brief warm-up, learning the repertoire of Broadway show tunes, acting and staging techniques. This course is devoted to the enjoyment of musical theatre and an appreciation for Broadway musical productions.

 

Pom

A movement based class that focuses on sharp arm movements, execution of choreographic visuals and dance team/cheer skills. Dancers will learn fundamentals of Pom positions, performance skills and pushes dancers to expand on their high energy, entertainment skills.

 

Production

Production is a Recital performance class that begins after the winter break and runs through to recital.  It is open to Levels 1-4. The style of dance is dependent on the year. It is usually the Recital opening number.

Shoes and Attire

No specific colors are required for classes.  Students can wear whatever color they like! However, we do specify color of shoes needed for Recital.   This means students do not need to have that specific color for class but will need them come costume pictures and Recital time.

 

 

Ballet Classes

Pink Ballet shoes. Leotard and tights/leggings are required for all ballet classes.  Form fitting warmups, skirts, leg warmers, etc are allowed.   No baggy coverups, I.e. t-shirts, hoodies, etc.

Hip Hop

Clean sneakers.  For hip hop we like to. costume a matching shoe to the costume.  So we do not ask that students buy a second specific pair of shoes for hip hop, but we do ask that they be different from the shoes they arrive in as to not track in any outside dirt and debris into the studio.
